This is a 2-night, 3-day trip through the Okitama region of Yamagata Prefecture, praised by British explorer Isabella Bird as the 'Arcadia of the East.' Visit the scenic spot overlooking the Okitama Basin, visit Kumano Taisha, which preserves over a thousand years of faith, and stay two consecutive nights at the famous Akayu Onsen inn 'Yamagata the Takinami.' On the second day, we toured rural areas and food production sites by e-bike, harvesting seasonal vegetables. While interacting with locals, you can experience authentic ramen making using ingredients you harvest yourself. On the final day, visit Mifuchi gorge, a sacred place of the Dragon God legend that cannot be reached by land. Cruise by canoe across the tranquil lake, spending a special time surrounded by granite cliffs, forests, and the sound of water. This journey deeply explores the charm of Yamagata, which is not a tourist destination, through nature, food culture, faith, and hot springs.
